Ms.
Juniper's law experience spans both the public and private
sectors. She began her career at the Federal Trade
Commission in Washington, D.C., where she received a
Superior Performance Award and commendation for her work.
As General Counsel for the Division of Reclamation in Columbus,
Ohio, Juniper regulated the coal mining industry's compliance
with environmental laws.
In
the private sector, as Director of Legal and Government
Relations for LensCrafters, Ms. Juniper directed
the company's national legal operations and regulatory reform
efforts in various states. She led the corporate group
that established the company's health plan subsidiary and
was appointed president of the new California subsidiary.
Since then, Ms. Juniper has advised companies in regulated
industries such as: health plan,
medical device, Internet health product, public utility,
FHA mortgage, corporate optometry, optical products, dentistry,
marketing, and biotech.
Ms.
Juniper is actively involved in a number of professional
and community organizations including: San Diego Volunteer
Lawyers Board, Advisory Board of Lawyers Club,
and California Women Lawyers. Past board activities include: California
State Advisory Committee on Health Plans, recipient
of Lawyers Club Belva Lockwood Award, co-chair
of San Diego Bar Association's Diversity Committee, and
Vice Chair of the Client Relations Committee.
Ms.
Juniper received her undergraduate degree magna cum laude
from the University of Cincinnati. She is a graduate and past
Dean's Fellow of the Washington College of Law at American
University in Washington, D.C. Ms. Juniper was admitted
to practice in Ohio in 1980 and became licensed to practice
law in California in 1988.
